"I'm not a talented person! I'm faking it!" says blue-eyed soul singer JC Chasez. He's joking, right? Not only have his emotion-filled vocals helped to earn 'Nsync one of the most loyal followings in pop, but the 23-year-old's songwriting and producing skills have infused their latest album, No Strings Attached, with dance songs to die for--particularly the infectiously out-there "Space Cowboy (Yippie-Yi-Yay)." "I wrote that song on an airplane," JC says, "You never know when [a song] is going to hit you, and you're thankful when it does. You can't write a great song every day." The ex-Mickey Mouse Club member is also making noise outside the group, lending his voice to Blaque's top-10 tune, "Bring It All To Me," and his songwriting and production savvy to an upcoming Wild Orchid CD. JC: The worst breakup I ever had happened literally right when 'N Sync started to hit. That's when my girlfriend and I broke up. I was brokenhearted.

CG!: Did you think you'd marry her?
JC: The thought crossed my mind. I wasn't going to marry her next year or anything, but I thought, "She's the one I'm looking for. She's gonna be around."

CG!: Do you think that experience made you stronger?
JC: Definitely. She made me a better person by hurting me, because she taught me how to truly appreciate something good. If I get something good in my life again, I won't smother it, but I'll definitely know what I have.
